Hunger Free Colorado

Nearly one in every four families with children in Colorado had difficulty paying for enough food in the last year. Although parents will try to shield their children from hunger, often reducing their own food intake or skipping meals, thousands of families in Colorado are struggling so severely that children suffer. Hungry children are more likely to experience health, developmental, and emotional problems. Childhood hunger is associated with poor performance in school and higher rates of illness, anxiety, and depression. Paradoxically, childhood hunger is associated with childhood obesity.
